Project Management Theory: Time, Cost, Quality.
It is common knowledge that in project management there are three variables which define success; those being time, cost, and quality. However, only two can be managed effectively. Attached are two photos – one depicting where the bottom edge of 4′ X 8′ particle board sheathing meets the mudsill (This is an actual job-site photo of a prominent construction company in the U.S.) while the other depicts the same thing, but using a Dodge Hanger.
Most usually, quality is always chosen as a project managers primary constraint in managing a project. It is too easy to convert time to cost, cost to time… but quality is often the variable which can have really lasting impact on a company, a crew, or individual. Quality is usually the variable not worth risking.
Unfortunately in the Construction Industry, this is not the case anymore. I recently bought an old house, (original structure 1920 old), before structural or corrective hardware existed – the beams are notched together! Could you imagine a contractor with a chisel fitting two pieces of wood together anymore? I go to the the local lumber store/yard and try to find a stack of wood without bow, plywood that doesn’t look like a potato chip, drywall with clean unbroken edges… unfortunately this is the exception not the rule.
At Dodge Hangers we are trying to help solve the problem of quality. We believe that by offering a quality Made In The USA stainless steel product which will save time (lots of time) and ensure quality we will also save Contractors, DIYers, and Homeowners money.
